Anna MacMiadhachain paints with a distinctive faux naive
style. Her charming evocations of the English West Country coastal life have become
increasingly sought after. Each painting is carefully planned and meticulously executed in
a muted acrylic palette of blue-greys and earthy greens. Although never strictly
topographical, her landscapes are inspired by the coastline and patchwork field patterns
that surround her home in Dorset, each flavoured with the influence of Alfred Wallis and
the St. Ives group, and the naturalistic paint tones of Christopher Wood. Anna is a
regular exhibitor at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition in London and the Royal
Watercolour Association. Her work hand in the collection of BP International, amongst a
number of other public and private collections.
